Hats off to our host Tim and Nancy Kois and co-host Don and
Vicki Sommers for a fabulous rally.  A lot of planning went into
this rally and it showed with all the smiling faces of the MAB
members.

MAB returned to Kentuckiana Campground in Hopedale, Illinois
for the first time in many years.   We started the rally with a
meet and greet on Thursday evening with snacks to share.  Larry
and Jolly Ann Whitener, Bill Andrews, Joe Nash, Bob and Paula
Young, Jerry and Carol Hardacre, Steve and Debbie Rittenhouse,
Mike and Shelia Scott along with our host Tim and Nancy Kois
and co-host Don and Vicki Sommers attended the rally.

Friday began with a breakfast casserole of sausage, eggs and
potatoes, fruit, orange juice and coffee to drink. Around 10:20
a.m. we line up for an adventure through the country side to
RGW Candy Company in Atlanta, Illinois. What a great place to
visit and sample some the products they make. The group
participated in the making of peanut brickle, dipping pretzels in
white and dark chocolate.  Amy gave us a history lesson about
the candy company that started with her grandfather, she is the
third generation to make candy from the recipes that her
grandfather hand down to her father. If you are looking for
some high quality and delicious candy check them out on Facebook
or their website at rgwcandyshop.com.

Dinner was at a local restaurant in Mackinaw, Illinois, the special
for the evening was catfish, perch and walleye.  I believe the
air conditioner was not working or just could not handle the heat
of the day in the restaurant.  The day was finished with a
campfire courtesy of Mike Scott.

Saturday was a day of adventure for everyone with breakfast
and lunch on your own.  A few people took advantage of the
$4.00 breakfast at Kentuckiana Campground.  That evening our
hosts cooked chicken and brats on the grill.

Before departing on Sunday, we enjoyed a continental breakfast
of donuts and coffee.

It was suggested that we make Kentuckiana an annual stop on our
rally schedule.  There will be no July 2018 rally for MAB.
We are still searching for candidates to serve on the MAB
board.  If you are interested in serving on the MAB board
contact Jeannie Zielinski.

Our apparel store should be online this month I will send
everyone a link to log onto the store.  It will be open until the
31st of July and all items will be delivered at the August Rally in
Lake Delton, Wisconsin, August 16 – 19.  Don’t forget to call the
campground before July 15 to reserve a site, there are many
other activities in the area at the same time, it is very
important to book ahead.

We deeply missed Carol and Pat Robison, Carol is going through
cancer treatment in Indianapolis.  We wish her the very best
and hope everyone keeps Carol in their prayers.  As a side note
MAB’s charity this year is the Multiple Myeloma Cancer Society.
Please save the caps from bottle water and the aluminum tabs
from soda and beer for Carol Hardacre.
Happy Birthday to Joe Nash!
